The 2016 Season is over, and now is the time to recognize the best of this past year. Who deserves recognition? We recently tasked all current CTL PLAYERS and COACHES to vote for who you think deserves each award. We asked you to vote for who is really the most deserving. We asked you to not just automatically vote for your teammates or friends… and you guys came through in fantastic fashion.

We had a record turnout with 113 of you participating!
————————-
The big winners on the year were Elmer’s Russell LaFleur (MVP and Gold Glove) who continues to amaze the league with his skill and rookie Elmer’s SS Alex Magoulas (Playoff MVP, Rookie of the Year, Gold Glove, and Play of the Year) who had an unbelievable championship series to cap off a great year. Also, quite a few Chicago Sam’s Orioles players picked up league awards which further recognizes their fantastic season. Chris Bouchard (Slugger), Noah Shaw (Comeback Player of the Year), Dustin Mocadlo (Gold Glove) and Brendan Sullivan (Sportsmanship) all picked up hardware for Don Fodaski’s Orioles team that had its best season in franchise history.
Congrats to them and to all the winners (and nominees)… and thanks to all who participated.

— Ken Cook, CTL VP & Elmer’s Manager

*NOTE… For each winner, league VP Scott Dickens put together a retro style baseball card award. You can click on any of the images for a full resolution downloadable picture, which you can save for yourself and post elsewhere… just give credit if you do to Scott (@S_A_D / @SDAce18 on Instagram/Twitter). These are made to be printed at actual baseball card dimensions 2.5″ by 3.5″. They are also based loosely on the original 1983 Topps Baseball Card design. Also note that a couple creative photoshop jobs had to be done to a few of the orioles since no pictures seem to exist of them playing in the league. 🙁

In the next day or two we’ll also be announcing the 2016 ALL-CTL Team. Last year we introduced the first ever ALL-CTL Team. It is another way to recognize the best in our league, as picked by the people who run it. The player awards are great but don’t necessarily recognize everyone that deserves the recognition for their fantastic years. Stay tuned tomorrow or Thursday for those winners!
