The Bee’s hosted a collection of CTL All-Stars this past April 14th, in a pre-season exhibition game on a perfect night for baseball

As we did in 2016, the Bee’s handed us a big loss. It wasn’t the pitching or offense that cost the CTL, but the errors on Defense that hurt the CTL the most.  A huge ammount of defensive rust was very evident for many players, BUT the pitching was generally very strong for the CTL and the offense while overmatched at times, did scrap together a handful of hits and an RBI single by the Expos CJ Ryan where he drove in Julio Ortiz-Rivera for the CTL’s only run. Earlier in the game, Russ LaFleur drove a double over the Bee’s right fielders head, but was stranded in scoring position. In the end, the Bee’s defeated the CTL 13-1 in a lopsided game, that could have been much closer if our defense was a little more ready to go. It still was a fantastic night and a great time for those that participated. We got almost 30 guys into the game… either pitching, on defense, or at least 1 AB. 9 of 10 teams were represented at the game, and all 9 of those teams got players in the game. Thanks to all those that participated, big thanks to Chris Barsa, Scott Dickens, Ken Cook, Don Fodaski, and Brian LaRochelle for the work behind the scenes setting it up… and HUGE Thanks to Gerry Berthiaume (the Bee’s General Manager), Stan Cliburn (Bee’s Manager), and the entire Bee’s staff and roster for everything. We hope we got you some practice to prepare you for your season, and hope to see you next year.

Here is a link to some of the best photos from the game, taken by league VP and Knights’ coach, Scott Dickens.
