Congratulations to the Chicago Sam’s Orioles as they won 2 close games to win their first ever CTL Championship over the Glastonbury Pirates! Both games came down to the last pitch with the clinching game won on a walkoff single to RF by Zack LaRosa who also was the winning pitcher. Great job by manager Don Fodaski putting together a top team he can be proud of! Hats off to Glastonbury as well for a great year.

That will conclude another CTL season (other than Allstar game Mon) and with that I’m officially retiring from baseball as player, manager and CTL President. Time to move on for me but it was a great run and much longer than I ever thought. Thanks to all the players, teammates and managers I met along the way and great friends I now have because of baseball. The league has come a long way and will be in great hands moving forward with interem president Scott Dickens taking over top office in CTL for now. My last game will be Monday at Muzzy Field when CTL takes on the GHTBL. Can’t think of a better way to leave than finally beating those guys!!

Sincerely,
Chris Barsa
