Season overview.

It was another very successful CTL 2016 season.  At the end it was Elmer’s Place that stood tall as CTL Champions doing it the hard way by losing in round one but then reeling off 6 straight wins to capture their 2nd title.  All 10 teams gave it their all the entire season as the competition might have been the best the CTL has ever seen.  Each manager did an outstanding job getting their respected teams ready for the 26 game regular season and the playoffs.

Regular season games were played at Dodd Stadium, Muzzy Field and CCSU for all teams as well as an exhibition game vs Independent professional team the New Britain Bees at New Britain Stadium, were some of the highlights for 2016, as were an entertaining Home Run Derby in July and league All Star game in August vs Greater Hartford Twilight League. Unfortunately, the CTL Summer Classic scheduled for Dunkin Donuts Park had to be cancelled for reasons we all heard and saw in the news.  We hope to try all of them again in 2017 as we always welcome new players, challenges, competition and of course lots of fun as we continue to grow the CTL into one of the top amateur baseball leagues you’ll find anywhere!  See you in 2017!

Sincerely,

Chris Barsa
CTL President
